About Chardham Yatra  & Chardham Temples

Chardham consists of four Hindu pilgrimage sites. Chardham Yatra starts from Yamunotri to Gangotri, Kedarnath and then finally to Badrinath.

Yamunotri is the origin source of river Yamuna and a religious homage to goddess Yamuna. The temple is made of granite stones.

Gangotri is the origin of the holy river Ganga, located at a region bordering Tibet. The temple is made of white marble stone.

Kedarnath is the highest temple among the 12 Jyotirlingas, dedicated to Lord Shiva and also a part of Panch Kedar.

Badrinath is one of the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Vishnu (holy shrines for Vaishnavas) who is worshipped as Badrinath.

Why to visit Chardham?

Chardham Yatra has its importance since a long time. It is the dream of every devotee to visit the Chardham once, as it is believed that visiting all these sites helps to attain moksha and piece of mind.
